I spent three weeks travelling in California, from San Diego, to Los Angeles, to Santa Barbara, visiting friends and spending some good time in the sun.

Discovering new cities and people while being on the road like a character in a Jack Kerouac novel allowed me to fully gain a sense of freedom, independence and happiness on this journey.

 

I took the train along the Pacific Ocean to reach the heights of Santa Barbara and the Greyhound bus, which took me to Mexico first, to get to Los Angeles. I drove a car along the coast and though the beautiful hills and vineyards of Santa Ynez, and I watched the whales from a boat in San Diego before taking a bath at sunset on the cold Pacific ocean.

 

California has a sunny and peaceful atmosphere, with a beautiful mix of cultures stemming from places as diverse as Asia and South America, where the music reigns among people and travels with the wind from city to city with an awesome hippie vibe still ringing true amongst the youth.
